Volcanic crater diving
Ministerio de Turismo El Salvador

El Salvador’s many volcanoes have left several volcanic craters, which, over time, have filled with rainwater. The crater that is most used for scuba diving is Ilopango. Volcanic Crater diving is a rare opportunity to experience El Salvador at its finest. Breathtaking green and blue water filled craters surrounded by dramatic cliffs feature a venue not offered in many locations. You can experience great cliffs and walls, that can go down to 231 mts (775 feet) and volcanic hot water outlets during your dives.
